Our Design Process

Our design process begins with an initial consultation where we take time to understand your goals, budget, lifestyle, maintenance preferences, and existing site conditions. From there, we move into the concept design phase, developing a preliminary layout, inspiration imagery, and an overall design vision tailored to your property. The design is then refined during the design development phase, where materials, planting, and spatial layouts are thoughtfully detailed to ensure both beauty and functionality. The process concludes with a final design package, including completed 3D renderings and documentation, ready to support construction or permitting as needed

Design-Only vs. Design + Build

  • For clients who want a complete, professional design package to build on their own or with a contractor of their choice. This option is ideal if you already have a builder, prefer to manage construction yourself, or want to build in phases over time.

You will receive clear, detailed drawings, layouts, material and plant selections, and design notes that explain how everything comes together. The goal is to give you a design that is easy to understand, easy to build from, and flexible enough to fit your timeline and budget; without being tied to a single construction provider.

  • For clients who want a seamless, all-in-one process where design and construction are handled by one team. Your project transitions directly from design into construction with our in-house crew, ensuring the vision created in the design phase is built exactly as intended.

This approach minimizes miscommunication between designers and contractors, shortens timelines, and helps control costs. With one team responsible from concept to completion, you get a smoother experience, consistent quality, and a finished project that truly reflects the original design.

Porter Ranch, CA

This thoughtfully designed hillside landscape creates a seamless balance between natural beauty, functionality, and modern elegance, making it an ideal outdoor retreat for everyday living and entertaining. A gently ascending gravel pathway with custom timber step treads provides safe and comfortable access while enhancing the visual flow of the space. Integrated low-profile lighting adds subtle illumination, ensuring both safety and ambiance during evening hours. The surrounding slope is carefully planted with drought-tolerant shrubs, lavender, succulents, and lush groundcovers that follow the natural contours of the terrain, creating depth, texture, and year-round interest. Rich wood mulch improves soil health and moisture retention while unifying the overall design with warm, organic tones. Mature citrus and olive trees add shade, fragrance, and seasonal character, reinforcing a timeless Mediterranean-inspired atmosphere. At the upper level, wood-accented retaining walls and smooth plaster finishes connect the landscape seamlessly to the home’s architecture. Designed with sustainability, low maintenance, and long-term performance in mind, this outdoor space offers a serene, welcoming environment that enhances property value and elevates everyday living.
